Hello. I'm a big fan of halflife and I have hl source and hl deatchmatch source. what i'd like to know is how do you play c1a0 with all the monsters with other players? because I've seen it all over youtube and I really want to know. could someone help?

Or load c1a0 in Gmod, Its a bit more stable, and that's most likely what you saw in the videos most of the time. If you don't have money, just do what muzzleflash said.

muzzleflash I tried doing that already. wait you do mean deathmatch source. I mean I really want to do a story coop or something. hl2 can do it. but hls can't. anyway how do I get deathmatch source to read c1a0.

Well, I guess it won't work then...

Q: How do you play Cooperation with other players / Single player maps with others?If that doesn't work then you've messed something up on your end.
A: You launch "Half-Life Deathmatch: Source" (you need also "Half-Life: Source" installed)
Then open a server with one of the maps from the list. And then you open your console (~ button, to the left if your number 1 button on the keyboard)
You type there the next: changelevel c1a0
this will change your map to c1a0, which is where you start off Half-Life single player (or storyline)

oh yeah while we're on that subject my gmod 9 doesn't work. because it'd be great if it could. it comes on then turns itself off with an error message. and I'm online. what do I do about that?

Do you have all the required games? Gmod 10, the retail version, comes with all the required files, but I don't think 9 does. you need HL:S, Hl2, DoD:S, CSS:S and maybe the orange box. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. Sorry crazyb2000.

if you want gmod 10 you need any kind of source game installed . I have hl2 and hl2dm as source games.
ep2 content is optional , you have to buy ep2 too

Again, if you're looking for a co-op mod that allows you to play through original HL/HL2/Episode levels with your friends, get Synergy (search for it in Steam mods) - it's free.
