As I still am working on The Portal's first map, I went mad when it suddenly wouldn't compile! It starts compiling and gets to LeafThread, then the whole thing just freezes! NOOOOOOOOO! Please help! :(

Depending upon how complex your map is, it may take a long time to compile. There is nothing wrong when the compile stops on Leaf Thread.

Compile times can take from a minute to days...I had one compiling for 7 days once. Usually, when I compile, I leave the computer sit for a while, then come back. On more complex maps, I compile overnite.

vis should not be taking that long ... on average it should only take (at most) 1 hr for a really complex map - thats on a pII class pc or equivalent

if your vis times are that long concider some redesign - like turning complex pipes to func_walls etc...

wtf are you talking about seventh? - i never mentioned any specific map. And stop confusing me - i'm tired and weary
