What do you use, if anything at all?

I used Fast Video Download addon for Firefox for ages, but upon clean installing my system yesterday, I found after reinstalling the addon, it no longer works... It was great for downloading flash games and youtube videos.

What do you use?

I made an image of my C drive before doing the clean install, so i might try to load the image and copy/paste my old firefox directory to my new build, and see if that makes the addon work again...

I open the swf file itself and then save it to my hdd

how do you do that exactly?

Control+u, search for .swf in it, and then open the link in a new tab.

Here's how i do it:

If you're having trouble copying that, go here:

Then goto YouTube and watch a video.
Then click the newly created favorite.
A link called "Download as MP4" appears below the URL and Embed information. Use that to download the video.

Or you can select it all, and drag it onto the bar above, where the quick links are, eg "getting started" "most visited" and then just click on it whenever you want to download something.

Put the url of the youtube movie in the top bar.

And download it with the link it gives ( download the mp4 versions for high quality)

The only thing that remains is flash now.

yeah that was the great thing about fast video downloader... it did both. = ) flash catcher works, but it's for ie, and also for some reason, it won't work on my x64 setup...

keepvid doesn't do much for high quality videos.

Try the Javascript thingy, Captain.

Look at the source of video page on failtube and you'll see how to do it..

Yeah the javascript works fine for firefox, it's just quite hard to notice the link pop up when you click it, it seems like it did nothing. >_>
