The area in Southwest China that was hard-hit by the earthquake a year ago is slowly escaping the shadow of the tragedy. However, the recovery doesn't necessarily mean a return to "normalcy".

"Earthquake tourism" is leading the way for the region's economic recovery. A combat simulation inspired by the Counter-Strike computer game has taken over the devastated region as a new form of entertainment for city folks blowing off steam from stresses at work.

Read about this strange story on how simulated death is disturbingly occurring at a location where a large number of the dead still lay buried in the rubbles.

Only managed to skim over it, but it seems pretty disrespectful.

"The people in disaster-hit areas need to get back to a normal life,"

"They need to walk out of the shadow of this disaster as soon as possible."

Not sure if play-shooting each other is the way to return to 'normal life'.

Turning a site with still-uncovered bodies into a tourist attraction? It seems fairly disrespectful to me as well. I only hope that a good portion of the funds are used as compensation for relatives of the dead there.

Apalling. Simply appaling. Those fuckers should stop playing games and start helping with the recovery.
