You know what really bugs me? I'm sure you've all played Goldeneye, and know that all the time you have to 'minimize scientist casualties' or you fail the mission. But, when you use unarmed, they DIE. You hit them with your hands or a sniper rifle, and instead of being knocked out, they die. I can understand that from a decade old game, but in newer games, such as 007 Nightfire, when you punch someone, they die as well. And you fail the mission, even if they're just a random civilian NPC. This really bugs me because the enemies you punch out are counted as incatacipated, not dead, but they are still counted as haven been killed. A few lines of code could fix this, I'm sure, they don't have to get back up, but don't count them as dead unless you use a lethal weapon on them or their "knocked out" corpse.
Post any examples of bad or illogical coding from games here.

Half-Life. (GouldSource in general...)

Then again, the engine is based on the original Quake-engine(with some Quake 2-bits thrown into it)...

Splinter cell double agent, annoying as fuck bug where you have to adjust your speed to crack a safe, after all, it was a console exclusive and was simply ported instead of "properly" made for the pc.

EDIT: It also took me over 45 minutes to figure out what the fuck was going on.

007 Nightfire actually used Goldsource.

normally it says somethings like "minimize civilian casualties", not deaths.

Nightfire on GameCube is awesome. That's all I have to contribute.

Yes, it is awsome, but it could still use a few lines of code that don't count PUNCHING people as killing them.

Yeah, that is a bit illogical. Then again, it's goldeneye, everything explodes.
