This is one of 17 emails I got stating an email delivery failure.

Notice that it is 'From mv85_19@hotmail.com' (which is me)
and delivered to all the emails I've never seen before!

And then when you look below, theres the content of the email.

How do I fix this, is it an online type of virus? Anyone run into this problem in the past?

You're fine. Those e-mails are just spam messages with a spoofed address and an "eye catching" subject line, I get 3 or 4 daily but Gmail does an excellent job of spam-filtering them. There isn't a way to fix it other than recognizing that you haven't been sending e-mails to yourself/anyone else or using a filter like Gmail does.

Yea, I too get a bunch of those on my Gmail account. I even get more of this spam on my Yahoo! mail spam box. Just make sure you don't fall for the Nigerian scam emails.

Wait, are you telling me I'm not actually the heir to the fortune of a distantly removed middle-eastern prince who passed away some weeks ago? Shit, I already had my retirement all planned out.

I think that only once or twice happened to me. I guess I'm lucky.

I do get spam (of any kind), it has "waves" in my inbox. Sometimes I don't get any for a while, then a crapload every day for months... right now I'm getting 4-5 each hour.

Funny, because when I first got my email account (I was 12-13 at the time) I wanted to receive something in it, so I signed up for everything that had any kind of email newsletter or daily crap on their website. That might have had an effect in the amount of spam I got later on. Now I don't want anything in my inbox that I'm not expecting... 9 years later, I still receive some of those occasionally.

I never get any spam in my inbox thanks to gmail. Epic spam filters.

Stop having a boring spam filter, stop having a boring life.
Switch over to Hotmail and look at that spam. You're gonna have an exciting life now.

Totally agree with Daub. Although this doesn't help you, if you really want to stick with Hotmail, but hell: Gmail all the way!

I used to get a fair bit of spam. I made a new address (not because of the spam, btw), and I don't get any anymore.
