Okay, this is going to be annoying, so I'll ask now. At the moment, I'm going through my music, fixing up their summaries. No matter what I change, often it will change the Artist section automatically, adding stuff to the end like these squares:I think this has only started happening recently. Does anyone know why this is happening, or better yet, how to stop it?

Have you changed your keyboard? Copy it and paste it in Notepad. See if it's anything you recognise as mapped to your keyboard. You might be accidentally hitting the key that generates it?

is that an actual screen shot? you seem to be running your os with 'teminal' text.. or 'impact' something along those lines.. which if you check your character map.. has WAAAAY less charectors in the packette than alot of other texts..

change it to 'new times roman' or something of the sort, GARENTEED that will solve it..

the [] square shape you see.. is windows way of explaining a character of text was left out/can't be seen.. it's really nothing to worry about (unless a weird virus i never heard of is creating the square of text at the end of them)

at either cost, if having the character (or character place, for older versions of windows) doesn't solve up the problem.. then I'd DEFINATELY run some type of virus scan software, and definately over those specific files

not to scare you or anything.. but nothing is free, even internet files

(as if you didnt know but..) character spaces to me, means.. if you check your character map.. theres only SO many slots to place text characters into.. even thought you can create any character with a combination of keys (i.e. alt+2,5,0,4 on the keyboard or something) if the 'place' of the character.. or slot it can use, doenst have any character in it.. your/our windows copy will display it as a '[]' square.. is all i ment by 'character place'

It's not about what character is appearing, it's the fact that it appears for no reason, even when I'm not even touching the Artist section.

I did find a fairly easy way to counteract this, but why would it be doing it at all? A virus scan didn't mention anything...

if a virus scan didnt pick anything up.. (and when i say anything, i suggest something from 'asus')

then theres nothing to worry about..

maybe its a feature your missing in your os?

you know,several cop programs bypass many mainstream spamware protectors... perhaps your infected with one of them? there are ways around it.. none appreciatedly effective..

purhaps, convert the file into something else.. and see if it runs (if not, the file is definately infected, if so, the files is not infected, or has become cured through conversion) reinstall operating system, and load said file through disc/flash drive, what have you..

if problems still persist.. it is a mother board(harddrive/videocard/ram) infectant virus.. in which case.. sue the ip you computer offers you as the culprit
