Last July, A teacher went psycho on his student and took him out of the classroom, then repeatedly slammed a weight into the boys head till he died while shouting "die, die, die". He was just taken to court and was cleared of all murder charges because according to the judge "it's common sense that this guy was in a stressed state" or something like that. I'm thinking which utter douchebag judged the case that day. Even better, the teacher acquired several supporters asking him to be cleared of the charges. Each one of those people should get slapped. This is totally f'd up.

pretty retarded infact. In a country where 14 year olds get jailed for killing a man who raped them, This somehow manages to slip past.

First of all, [according to the Times online article linked earlier] the trial is not over. Don't be too quick to pass judgement on the jury (nor the judge, Skals).

Second, seems pretty likely he'll be found insane and sentenced to mental care, a rather fitting outcome if the article is to be believed.
[After the attack] Mr Harvey was found in the classroom in a ?considerable state of stress? with his fists were clenched, his eyes narrowing and still shouting ?die! die! die!?

He was taken to the headmaster?s office, making low howling noises and repeating, ?I?ve killed the boy?.

I do not like the way you judge these things. Pretty disturbing yes, but the teacher must have had enough. It's just an exaggerated case of what regularly happens with teachers that get pushed to the limit.
In my school, a classroom colleague of mine did this to a teacher, and was really getting annoying until the teacher came to him and pulled him by his hair with such force that the hair just snapped out of his head.
There were pretty intense discussions, but it was mostly my colleague fault.

So don't get angry for me, I'm not sustaining this teacher, but cases like this when arrived on mass-media are just bloated with bullshit(the "die, die, die" thing... I just believe the kid was such a nuisance that the teacher got over-enraged).

There is absolutely no acceptable reason for a teacher to nearly kill a student. Period.

When you get to that stage, you should think of a career in something other than teaching

According to some articles I read this wasn't the first time he attacked one of his pupils. I believe that this guy was cleared of attempted murder, but maybe he will still go to a mental institution or something. Some of the things that he said after the attack were quite disturbing, have a read here:

Don't get me wrong, but at a point in time I actually thought about being a teacher, I'd love to teach. It's a beautiful activity.
Expressing my thoughts about that man doesn't mean I'm like him :). I too believe that he should be in jail by now, it's totally unacceptable what he did, but what I'm saying is that it's not 100% his fault.
