Perhaps there are no entities? I thought that was a pretty self-explanatory error.

lol, you do need entities for it to perform bsp, else it has no idea whats inside and whats out

if you're using cordon bounds make sure you cordoned it properly

make sure there are ents in every hull (shoebox like the tut calls it) and if you made the rooms of blocks, make sure the are hollow and make sure the entities arent all inside a brush (unless its an invisible entity brush)
