Do anybody know a good hl mod pack? Like a good start for someone who hasn't played so many mods. I've been looking around on mod sites but hard to know what's worth trying and you guys should know what's good.

While we wait for 2muchvideogames to show up with a good reply to your enquiry, I'll welcome you to TWHL and suggest you look at said user's journal posts. You might find something you like.

You can find some good mods here. Especially noteworthy are Wanted (mainly MP), Absolute Redemption (SP), the Counter-Strike beta versions (MP, doesn't work with Steam Half-Life), Bumpercars (MP), Half-Life 2: Jaykin' Bacon Source (MP, don't be fooled by its name, it is for Half-Life 1), HL Rally (MP), Frontline Force (MP), USS Darkstar (SP) and Sven Co-op (mainly MP). With the exception of Sven Co-op and certain versions of Counter-Strike (through WON2), the multi-player games no longer have active servers.

Got lots of singleplayer mods for you to try out: potatis has suggested some popular ones, but are you looking for 'typical' mods where you are in black mesa, or are you wanting to explore entirely new settings and so forth? If you have something particular in mind, don't hesitate to tell me.

Yeah, it is a shame that most of these MP mods have no servers (except CS and SC)

thanks for suggestions. too bad hl mods had it's time I'm sorta late but it's okay I got my tfc and that's all I need for mp. I'm open to anything that's good. Will try those sp mods suggested. thanks.
