Radiation poisons the soil, air and water. Its just a matter of time when will any of that reach the rest of the world. And google it your self, you have hands.

I live in a country that got fcked up by NATO radioactive missiles bombarding
Nuclear plants are not missiles. You need to get that misconception out of your head.
If the reactors at Osaka leak fully every one in the world will be affected with deadly radiation.
Just like Chernobyl flooded the entire world with deadly radiation, right? Oh wait.
Chernobyl w after people sat around ignoring very obvious problems. The Fukushima plant is currently only leaking, and the employees are hard at working trying to fix it before it gets any worse.
You cant just sit back and think nothing of it.
I sit back and trust that the engineers working on the fucking thing know what they're doing. Being optimistic or pessimistic from where I'm sitting makes absolutely no difference from where I'm standing. My entire future also depends on the relative well-being of Japan, so I pretty much have to hope for the best for my own sake.

Edit: ^Admittedly, that's probably a foolish, arrogant position.

Ha, seems odd for you to mention that just 2 days after I watched this:

Chernobyl Nuclear Disaster - Surviving Disaster (BBC Documentary series)

I found this to be pretty incredible, and one of Ade Edmundson's finest ever performances. Not entirely related but it does prove that Japan's handling of the nuclear situation is a lot more organised than Chernobyl was.

I have no idea what happened there. "W" was supposed to be the word "exploded".

So radiation from nuclear plants and missiles doesn't work the same? hahaha

[img]Oh wait.
Chernobyl w after people sat around ignoring very obvious problems.[/img]

No one could have predicted the failure.
Watch the documentaries (Russian ones the most).
The Fukushima plant is currently only leaking
You dont seem to know how toxic that is. Radioactive fuel leakage is extremely dangerous.

And yes, they are working on it and they are risking their lives, but not only for their own sake, but for the sake of every one else.
Thinking only of your self is very immoral where i live, but w/e.

They don't.

these things can spread pretty far in the air, I think it was either chernobyl or bhopal, one of them resulted in contaminated foods all the way to italy. Cancer rates will go up (again)

Just like Chernobyl flooded the entire world with deadly radiation, right? Oh wait.
"We're basing this on Japanese studies following the Chernobyl incident in 1986 where levels of iodine-131 were four times higher than what we've detected in our rainwater so far,"
Because you didn't really care to read the article. No, not deadly radiation, but radiation nontheless.

Crollo, you fucking idiot. For Christ's sake, everything on the fucking planet emits "radiation nonetheless". Nobody ever said that there isn't any fucking radiation. Nobody ever said that this isn't a serious fucking issue. But there's a lot people running around like chickens without heads thinking that Fukushima is some kind of impending fucking apocalypse, and there has been no fucking evidence to suggest that the real situation is anywhere near that.
Yes, there were traces of radiation in the fucking rain. "Traces" means just barely enough to even notice that it's there. They used ocean water to cool the reactor after the fucking earthquake. Of course there is going to be some fucking radiation in the rain. The real thing to worry about is if the entire fucking reactors melt down, which hopefully won't happen thanks to the good people who have been so diligently working on the fucking thing. You are everything that's wrong with the world, and I hope you die in a fucking fire.
FUCK.

BUT HE'S RIGHT. There, you got your caps. Eating a banana is a dose of radiation. Living in Tokyo right now, with the leak, is the equivalent of eating 1.5 bananas a day.
Posted 13 years ago2011-04-01 00:38:25 UTC Post #292766
In what respect? I'm not making the radiation out to be 'OMG ITS GOING TO KILL US OMGOMGOMGOMGOGM', just duly noting something that dispite what you may or may not believe, is not natural radiation cause like eating something like a banana.

Muders, rape, crimes happen every single day.
Does this mean we should simply cease to give a shit if some bitch get's raped on a public bus and is then decapitated, just because it's a normal thing to happen?
Crollo CrolloTrollo
Posted 13 years ago2011-04-01 01:21:32 UTC Post #292767
so before radiation = radiation but now it's two completely different things?
Posted 13 years ago2011-04-01 01:30:54 UTC Post #292768
Agreed, its "good" to worry about this. Just like I worry about the fluoride in tap water.
Posted 13 years ago2011-04-01 02:43:16 UTC Post #292770
I actually meant to add a d at the end of 'cause', but Okay.

I actually worded that pretty poorly, If you eat a banana then you get radiation, radiation is normal, but what causes it varies. If something causes radiation that didn't happen before, it isn't normal

If you're used to seeing light in your room, but suddenly there's a new source of light in your room, should you simply not give two shits because there was light there already, even though this new source of light isn't the 'regular' source?

I don't think any of you know what your talking about.

Radiation = bad
Banana = good
Bananarama = very bad
Posted 13 years ago2011-04-01 09:14:07 UTC Post #292782
So the conclusion is that if 1 million bananas were to suddenly drop out of the sky in the same spot due to the high gravity, not only we would be sucked in a bananahole, people around it would die in a few hours due to high radiation.

Brilliant effort.

After watching that it surprises me how the majority of the games that influenced me were western ones.
I guess it's because I never owned a console, and that most of the best PC titles out there in the late 90s/00s were western.

How is #1 a reason to be thankful it's Japan and why do you hate Japan? I almost agree about #2, because Japanophilia can be annoying, but nothing good comes out of pain. Also, I think a better solution to the overpopulation problem is for people to stop making so many babies. I think China's one-child restriction may be a good idea. I'm for civil liberties but overpopulation is a problem which won't solve itself.

Because it's insanity! Cancer, AIDS, car acccidents, alcohol overdose ect... all massively out-weigh a natural disaster like this! Natural disasters are just a drop in the bucket when it comes to loss of human life and to be thankful for loss of life, for any reason, is f-u-c-k-e-d.
