When I play map on my laptop with vid. res. all the way up entities dissapear and re apear, func_walls set to solid with masked { textures become black off and on. Any idea whats up?

Its on my dell xps 15 with a 2gig mem card and i5 proc so should be fine. Counterstrike runs fine. Is it because I didn't install half life but copied my entire sierra folder from my other computer?

Do you have drivers installed for your graphics card? Are you running Half-Life in OpenGL mode?

So yah, make sure it's running in OpenGL. Also, a lot of time your laptop will not ship with the best nvidia drivers. Get the latest you can find, whether that's from dell or not.

Dell XPS L501X drivers
Dell XPS L502X drivers
Download and install the Intel and Nvidia drivers under the category "Video".

take opengl32.dll out of your hl directory, it should allow you to go into opengl mode.
