Crollo: Because Notch knew Java. That's what his previous games were in. It is unlikely that future Minecraft titles will also run in Java. For example, I'd be surprised if the 360 version is java.

I have to admit, I like having to use shears now. If you kill a sheep, you get as much wool as if you hit one once. But, with the shears, you get 3-4 blocks of wool. I also like being able to use leaf blocks.

I thought I'd post the work I did on the final days of the server. It was a rush job, so everything isn't as nice as I'd hope.
Now, for the finale. Rim and I decided to build this a couple of days before 1.7 came out, and since he updated, the bastard left me to build it alone.

i hardly think 'archie sux' is fair. i paid for that server for almost 4 months, and haven't even played on it myself for about 6 weeks.
i said it before: minecraft servers are really expensive because they use way more Ram than most games.
it hasn't had a whitelist for about 2 months so you could have joined ages ago...

Notch recently revealed more information regarding the 1.8 Adventure Update. The following things have been confirmed for the update's release:
• NPC Villages
• Randomly generated dungeons
• New biome code
• Fully functioning Creative mode (with Creative-type access to server mods/admins)
• Critical hits
• Sprinting
• More farming options
• Brightness slider

My future tower house:
It will feature multiple rooms and about 3 floors if I don't decide to add more. Most of the "supports" are ready, only the "walls" must be added. And glass floors.

as for this new server, my advice is to keep it private, anon. With the snc server, i pm'd the details to those who showed interest in it after i decided if they could be trusted or not. Just days after i made the ip public, stuff was getting wrecked.

my levels always have like a 12x12 skyscraper with about 10 levels in them.
i just find a place to stay for the first night and keep expanding it up/down.
go down til i hit lave, go up til i can't anymore.
every world is the same but i find nothing else i want to build hahaha.

Theres a simple solution to that. Rather than use blocks to get to another island, try to climb into the ceiling by stacking some stuff then tunnel through the ceiling. Then momentarily build a hole down to see if theres somewhere below. If there is, use a water bucket to go down.
