Voice actors - Assemble!

Post here if you fancy doing some voice acting and want people to know that you're available.
Also post if you have any projects which need voice actors.

I'll get the ball rolling, shall I?

Voice Actor, Male, Deep voice, Scottish accent.
I'm willing to do pretty much any small roles and will have them done within a week of accepting a position.
I'm sure you all know what I sound like by now, but here's an example if you don't.
Recording equipment: Clicky
Also, I'm looking for two mature American accents for a few lines to be used in The Core. It's conversational stuff, so no acting experience is required.
Any chance of this thread being stickied?

Voice Actor, Male, American Teenager, Awkward.
I'm a teenager and can do a pretty good voice acting, I can do most things, and even sound authentically Awkward if you need me to. My voice can get high and low if I need to. Happy to help anyone who isn't a dick :D
Recording Equipment: Moderately Fine Mice Headset.

I'm trying to record my voice right now, and as I'm doing that I realize how horrible it is. I'll probably post later a record of my voice.(me talking to... me)

Not at all, however your use of "British" is a bit vague.
I can easily get you a couple of Scottish girls who act at college, but something tells me you meant English when you said British.

Voice actor, Male, Deep voice, Scottish accent
Can you do the other Scottish accent? As in, the Sean Connery accent? I never quite managed it, but it is always fun to try.
Posted 13 years ago2011-08-19 20:17:27 UTC Post #298199
the other? Haha. There are loads. Sean Connery has an Edinburgh accent combined with his own gravelly, yet somehow exceptionally smooth voice.

My accent is Glaswegian, but yeah I can do Edinburgh fairly easily.

The point was whether you could impersonate that fine gentleman.

I'll pick a line for you:

"The name ish Bond. Jamesh Bond."

That'll do.

I'm so hardcore
Actor / Voice actor , male , normal , variety.

I've barely done any things but considering how much I overact with my voice when i'm normally acting , I think I can do pretty well.

Quite a while ago I got bored out of my face when making a map and decided to do a "VOX"-esque american PA voice. Here's the download if you want a listen

I would add myself to this thread, but last time I tried voice acting I never managed to get a quiet moment alone to do it. I believe the mod it was for is dead now anyway.

Meh, I might do a voice test tomorrow. Just in case:

Voice Actor, Male, Deep voice, English accent with range of other (terrible) accents.
I'm limited to when I can record, as well as only having access to a standard quality headset mic and Audacity.
Willing to do any role small or large. Done some minor roles for mods and a very very small part in an episode of The DC Chronicles machinma series. Was cast as a main character in a project which never got off the ground.
Here's your sample I guess
Recording equipment: Shitty Headset Mic, Audacity for improving quality slightly.

I for one refuse to do any voice work. Such an activity would provide specific data that could be used to identify me as an existing individual outside of the realm of the internet, and that is unacceptable.

I have a really low quality microphone or i'd at least give it a try. Bought it for shouting at noobs not really for actual recording.
Posted 13 years ago2011-08-22 20:17:02 UTC Post #298302
Well the part is for a phone answering machine, so it might work out. You want me to send you the lines and you can give it a shot?
It's only a couple of lines to add some more depth and believability to the location.

I have a Canadian\American accent and I might be able to do it, although I'm 3 years away from 'mature' age I think I could pass off for an adult due to my deep voice. [I'll replace the sample link with one of me talking normally, some reason I raise the pitch of my voice when trying to adopt a accent]

EDIT: I don't think I can pass off for an adult. Listening to my voice over and over I seriously don't get how people can possibly mistake me for being so much older then I really am...
EDIT: Updated the file.

Ah, I just read the start of the thread and the "mature" part, my voice sounds a bit young for my age(22). You can send the lines if you want, but if you can find someone older then I really think you should.

I'm also looking for voice actors for my mod... But not any fixed lines which you shall talk for me.. Speak whatever you want... Ever wanted to hear something specific in Half-Life then send me your record and your intention regarding that voice line and I'll add it as long as the sound quality fits.

Especially military radio chats would be very welcome...

To give you an example I've just created a soundfile..

http://www.moddb.com/members/23-down/videos/audio-demonstration#imagebox

I hope it works because I can't watch or listen to any streams from moddb.
Anyway if you liked what you just heard create me similiar voices + an info with your intention you had for your voice file and I will make a cool sound out of it by adding these fancy effects if requested. And then I will add it to my mod to add more atmosphere in it and to get rid of the regulary played "To all units return to rallypoint" radio messages.

Ps: I'm working on an Opposing Force mod if you're still unsure what I'm talking about. ^^ :P

Everyone can attent to this so don't be shy and send me your cool voice based.wav or mp3 files. I'm looking forward to receive hopefully a bunch of impressive sounds with many unique ideas included in them. :D
And be sure that you will end up in the mod credits when I add any sounds from you people.

Greetings 23-down

Casting call for a male Australian with a reasonably mature voice.
Non-Aussies who can do a convincing enough accent would also be fine. Regional accent doesn't matter, as long as it's recognisably Australian.

Fairly urgently required for a small voice-role in a short film.

If somebody could recommend me a non-expensive , semi-decent mike then i'd be incredibly happy as a certain someone has "accidentally misplaced" my previous good quality one.

I'm just going to point this out there - the one thing that really grinds my gears is general terrible voice acting. I don't care whether you can do a good russian accent , if it sounds like you are bored shitless and have no expression in your voice then you are not able to call yourself a voice actor.

I would be willing to accept that call, Archie. But
A: I have no voice acting experience, I'd probably be shite.
B: More importantly, I am far from possession of a good quality mike.

If you get desperate though, I could see what I could do. I figure my accent is recognisably Australian, what with being Australian and all... continues rambling

I'm an awesome child voice actor, and like I said my mom is a good voice actor. It just sucks because WHAT game has a child and an adult woman? Half-Life doesn't eve have any women at all.
