He needs because he can always upgrade his PC with out the need of a newer MoBo. Especially when prices drop for good GPUs in the future.
The Capacitors leak when there is a power problem, not have to do anything with the BIOS nor with the CPU. But if they are old and worn out the CPU can suffer (but that doesnt happen in less than 10 years).

You want what proved? That higher memory speed means better performance?

Motherboard is the single most important part of a good quality PC.

And if he is low on founds, Velociraptor inst a bad choice, since for the price of one 64GB SSD you can get a 300GB 15kRPM Sata 3 western digital Rapotr.

But he went for an 120gb ssd in the end, so no worry.

As for AMD cards, Nvidia is Nvidia, i dont need much to prove. Its more technical than just price and performance.

It's not cost-effective, nor efficient to upgrade to two video cards in the future. There are powerful enough single-card GPUs(and there are dual-GPU cards btw, although expensive).

You said that "Even 100 MHz is a whole different level of performance". That's what I want proved. Of course higher frequency means more performance, but 100mhz is NOT a big difference.

Ok, I know this is arguing, I hope I'm not being harsh.

Its an error on my side, what i meant by that is:

Even 100MHz faster than what you have is a big improvement.

It depends really, i can now buy 2 cards for 200e and have a better performance than my singe one i bought 2 years ago.

[Edit]
Even if it seems harsh, its to point out something, dont worry :)

I am going with the i5 3570k. This CPU is 80-100 pounds cheaper than a 3770k and 3820, and slightly worse in normal mode, but when all three are overclocked, 3570k destroys the 3820, and is 10% better than 3770k. Plus it's cooler and needs less power, so it has some amazing overclocking potential. 100 less pounds plus higher overclock performance makes it so much greater value for money. I'll just get one good cpu cooling fan and all is good.
