I just started playing tf2 after a long hiatus(mostly because i didn't have the free HDD space), and i must say i'm really enjoying it.

My fav gametype is koth, simple and fun, and i rarely play payload or other gametypes.

My favourite class is the Engineer, but after getting pwned by the spy a few times i usually switch to pyro and and nooburner, or scout and run around mostly hitting people with my level 42 fish =)

I also like the spy, but i have to be in the mood for it, and playing medic is always a fun/nice way to change things up.

I'll play demoman just to use the big claymore sword for fun, but i don't really care for his other weapons.

I like the other classes but i'm horrible at them, so i'll just play them occasionally, or if a certain situation warrants a certain class.

So, how do you TF2?

I do best with Sniper and Spy and enjoy them the most but of course get bored of playing just two classes so I switch to Soldier or Scout.

I like CTF maps which seems to be against popular preference but prefer Control Point maps over it. The new gamemode is pretty fun I just hope they add some more maps for it eventually.

As of yet, I've never played TF2 outside of the training stuff.

(Incidentally, anyone know of a good map that has an area that could pass as office-like?)

Loved playing the sniper before I started hating the whole thing. I'd rather play TFC now.

idk, i don't feel items effect the game one way or the other; the more skilled team is going to win imo, e.g. i still like the original rocket launcher better than any of the "upgraded" ones.

All the items seem pretty balanced to me i.e., if it's stronger in one regard, it's also weaker in another.

are we talking about the same thing when you say "items" my friend? =P

I just don't enjoy the game. That's all there is to it.

I loved TF2 until I took two breaks from it.
Both times, I came back and realized that I had missed so much new content in such a small time frame that the game felt uninviting.

I can only imagine how brutal it is these days to new players.

I mean, the game itself is still fun. It's just annoyingly overwhelming, and you'll always be left out if you're not absolutely dedicated to it.

Spy has always been and probably will always be my favorite. Any archetype that relies on outsmarting the opposition instead of overpowering it draws my attention. That's why I like Shaco in LoL and hunters in L4D. Been that way my whole life.

If you do plan on buying item(s), if you test an item out it will also let you buy it for a discount. Save some money.

Ya Grim! i wish i knew that 2 days ago when i bought the urban professional pack! ='(

what is the $99 ring in the store for btw? Does it do anything or would you buy it just to brag to people you spent $99 on an item?

The ring sends a message to everyone currently playing TF2 when you send it to someone. That's about it.

There's been a couple cases of players proposing to their partners with it.

LOL that would be pretty cool =)

Edit
Tomislav is great and that little-bit reduced spin-up time is pretty cool, tho i think it has a less accurate, more erratic "cone" of fire maybe. Very neat looking and fun to fire =)

Also BTW, i just finally figured out you can throw the sandvitch(holy cool), and i just picked up a free kritzkrieg, gotta try medic now! =P
