I place out textures and decals, however, after the map is compiled, a lot of the textures and decals does not appear. How come?

I use func_wall and func_illusionary with the blue-coloured textures such as "{vine1" and infodecals on decals such as "{fault06".
I've tried to decrease the number of WAD files to below 8 without any results.

Are you sure the wads are in the correct folder? like if you are making a mod or something?

Edit: While continuing mapping, I've apparently done something to make the textures appear on the map again.

If you have the problem again don't mind adding a drive letter into the location of the .map file. I had this problem myself and i didnt knew how to fix it..

"wad" "cstrikehalflife.wad"

to

"wad" "C:cstrikehalflife.wad"

The compiler needs to know where the .wad's are, the .map file tells them. If your hammer is misconfigured wrong paths will be written to the .map and hence the purple/black squares. You can just strip the paths to the .wad and just copy them to where hlbsp... resides, or fix your hammer.
