What exactly do you mean by creepy?
Maybe you need to change the colour of the light
Perhaps a glow sprite would make it look better

i used glow sprite already. but problem is when light bouncing the other block's textures, that texures looking darker than other textures witout lighting... I made candle an illusion object and i waiting. i'll share results...

Not sure what could cause that without looking at the entities in the map. Perhaps others can provide better insight.

I can't say I understand what the problem is. I don't see anything that looks particularly strange here. (Assuming this is a light entity within those brushes.)

Well, what you've outlined in that second shot is a shadow, I assume from the lantern style frame around your light. If you don't want the shadow, you'll need to change the frame to an entity such as a func_wall

I reckon the shadow doesn't look that bad though. Adds a little definition. That light over the door (and potentially in the room beyond) is too bright for how big it is, though.

I looked at that first, and wrote the same as you Urby, and then I realised he might be talking about the pitch black area just beyond.

Are you running OpenGl or software mode

I'm going to say software, based on the pixellation of the textures (unless he's disabled the OpenGL filtering in the console)

im using software mod. and yea im talking about that dark shadow on the wall.

It's generally recommended to not run in software mode, unless your computer doesn't support OpenGL.

That dark shadow on the far wall is just a shadow from the lamp itself. If you place other lights in the area, it should look better. Also if you reduce the texture scaling on that wall, the shadow will be sharper.

Why not use a texturelight instead? That blue lab floor texture that you use in your first screenshot certainly isn't one.

And yes, you want to be using OpenGL, if you can.

Can you show us a screenshot using OpenGL to see the difference?

i guess opengl has more washed out color so its not that noticeable

That almost looks fullbright. Perhaps take the light brightness down a notch?

that's just a one side of hallway.. should i lower brightness ???

Yeah why not. Try experimenting with a bunch of different lighting values.
I can't tell from the picture, but ais the blue trim emitting light?
