Going to try it out this midnight. When I'll finish, it'll be hammer time :hammer:

Woo! Definitely checking this out. Probably tomorrow though as it's my niece's birthday and I'm dealing with all that tonight. :P

I have made it to the church. Very much enjoying it so far!
EDIT: I am getting a CTD on leaving the church, both in the regular and 1.0.0.0-safe branch.

We just found a problem that was causing memory corruption issues and ultimately crashes, Shepard's preparing an update.

Glad to hear it, I can't wait to see what happens next!

I've got a problem launching it - it can't load client.dll. I checked the web if other people had problems with it and made sure all the files were put in the right place.

I tried to run it under WON and Xash 3D, to no avail. It's the only mod that gave me this error so far...

Edit: Nevermind, just noticed that it only supports steam version right now.

Hotfix v1.0a is live on ModDB & Steam. Sorry for the folks who had crashes.

@Snehk : Official WON/Xash3D/Linux support is being worked on.

Just got the opportunity to play HL:R, really impressed by it. I just arrived into Emerson. I love the gloomy mood and tone of the game, the voice acting is pretty great, even with it's mistakes, it just makes it all the more better.

Most of my problems are really minor actually, they just go down to level details mostly. And on that makes it sometimes quite hard to find keys and such, since there is actually too much detail.

Really solid game you guys got done.

Okay, gotta say, this was magnificent. The Inventory system added a bunch of depth to the survival part of your survival horror formula, the new weapons were great, and those big Ned Kelly motherfuckers with the shields were a blast to fight.
I have to admit that, like the previous mod, I had to enable god mode for the final boss (Massive spike in the difficulty curve there, especially with how the environment is laid out) but it was a fitting end to the story.

Definitely a good way to spend my Halloween!

Did you install the Steam version or did you install it as a mod? Based on your error message it's the latter. Right now only the Steam version is supported.

Just to confirm: you installed the mod through Steam, right? It should be installed in common/Half-Rats - Parasomnia, not common/Half-Life.

If you are using the Steam version of Half-Rats: Parasomnia, make sure that the download was a success by asking Steam to validate the game's integrity. The Steam version doesn't touch your Half-Life installation since it's shipped as a "standalone".

If you were using the ModDB version, then you just extract the "hrp" folder in your Half-Life directory. You do the same with the hotfix.

You have to extract all files from hrp.1.rar into separate folder, name it "hrp" and put this folder in your main Half-Life directory. Do not rename "cl_dlls" folder, it's not intended. And don't use this version with WON or Xash3D.

i heard you fixed the thing where you can stand on that guy's head and reck him. How am i supposed to beat him now? He's like the parry master. Even when doing that he tanked harder than a garg

Note: I haven't actually tried the steam version yet
Posted 7 years ago2017-11-03 11:47:03 UTC Post #337945
By renaming the directory you're actually making it use the vanilla Half-Life client dll, that's not a solution.

What do you mean by "experimental isolated steam version"? I would assume that any modifications made to it would risk breaking anything relying on it.

I'm not a moderator, but I would like to remind you that TWHL has rules and one of them being no references to cracking/pirating/illegal stuff.

Parasomnia is singleplayer only. Normally, VAC won't be enabled (unless you activate it in the launch options and/or "liblist.gam") and you should be able to play on your Steam account banned by VAC.

But I can't guarantee that will work, you cheated, you knew the consequences. If Parasomnia refuses to work, then buy yourself a new license of Half-Life on a new Steam account (I don't care that you don't have the money for).

Me and the rest of Heath Games have a strict policy of no support of "LAN/Non-Steam" versions of Half-Life as well as any HL installation that doesn't have the "2017 security patches".

Lunch is a bit cheaper in India.

Downloading the mod. Will be fun to play a single-player Half-Life mod again. It has been a while.
