Thermal Foundation's Aluminium is disabled by default, so making aluminium brass is impossible early game.
It's possible to enable it without having to create a new world by using retrogen: https://github.com/CoFH/Feedback/issues/423

Just need to add the ore to the oregen file as well:https://old.reddit.com/r/feedthebeast/comments/5ys242/how_can_i_force_thermal_foundation_to_generate/desux5d/?st=js1p1oac&sh=d3f487ae

I have enabled it. Confirm if it worked.

I dug for about 10 minutes and found no aluminum. Which changes did you make and does the log show that it was retrogenerating the ore?
Something like
[12:56:00] [Server thread/DEBUG] [cofhcore/]: RetroGening [-3, 34].
should be showing up.

This is the json data I put into 01_thermalfoundation_ores.json:
	"aluminum": {
            "distribution": "uniform",
            "generator": {
                "block": {
                    "name": "thermalfoundation:ore",
                    "metadata": 4
                },
                "material": "stone",
                "cluster-size": 8
            },
            "cluster-count": 4,
            "min-height": 20,
            "max-height": 50,
            "retrogen": "true",
            "biome": "all",
            "dimension": {
                "restriction": "blacklist",
                "value": [
                    -1,
                    1
                ]
            }
}
I didn't actually checked the log for messages, I'll look now.
Nope, no mention of any retrogenning. I did say something about metadata being ignored and will be replaced by the 'properties' field. None of the other ores in that file use metadata so I replaced it, the file looks like this now:
	"aluminum": {
            "distribution": "uniform",
            "generator": {
                "block": {
                   "name": "thermalfoundation:ore",
                    "properties": {
                    	"type:" "aluminum"
                    }
                },
                "material": "stone",
                "cluster-size": 8
            },
            "cluster-count": 4,
            "min-height": 20,
            "max-height": 50,
            "retrogen": "true",
            "biome": "all",
            "dimension": {
                "restriction": "blacklist",
                "value": [
                    -1,
                    1
                ]
            }
}
File is reuploaded and server rebooted. Will look for a retrogen message now.

You also need to make sure that retrogen is enabled in COFH config.
Posted 5 years ago2019-02-12 20:20:44 UTC Post #342019
I don't think it worked, use the aluminum from this config: https://github.com/AllTheMods/ATM-3/blob/master/overrides/config/cofh/world/01_thermalfoundation_ores.json

And rename it to aluminum2 or something, because COFH won't regen it otherwise. It won't affect the actual ore, it's just the name used for COFH ore generation.

Marble could use an emc value of 1 but it’s so common that it’s not necessary. If there’s ever a large update, some emc changes could be made. Also, wool probably should have an emc value tool, ya know, because.

I've put 3 sets of AE2 presses next to my front door if you need them. I had to clean out 3 meteors to find them all, so the nearby ones won't have any.

No, it’s fine for now, but if the opportunity arises like when I get some custom items going, we’ll see.

Everything I've seen from Chisels & Bits seems like it's a really nice design mod to have if you have the mind for it (even if half of what I've seen of it is Faxanadu sprites). Do I have the mind for it? Ehhhh~

I am building an autonomous manufacturing plant in my basement. It requires no player interaction and produces all the resources it needs.
On the left: crafters, furnaces, alloy smelters, etc. On the right: containers for ore and other mineralsOn the left: crafters, furnaces, alloy smelters, etc. On the right: containers for ore and other minerals
So far the most complicated thing it constructs is a simple redstone furnace, but it should be fairly simple to expand to more complicated things now. The completely automated production of a redstone furnace requires, amongst a whole bunch of other things: a cactus farm, tree saplings, an atomic reconstructor, a water pump, and hoes. It sounds like the start of a strange Olsenbanden/Jönssonligan film (Scandinavians will know what I'm talking about). I think I want to autocraft some decent solar panels next. I'm using way too much energy building up buffers of metals and items.

I'm having some problems with an unknown large number of skeletons having spawned in my basement for some inexplicable reason. I can't kill them. They don't do anything. But they make the game lag whenever I look in their direction (even when I can't see them). They are very near where I used to have a spider Powered Spawner, which may or may not be related (I moved it and turned it off for now). If anyone has any ideas of how to get rid of them, please let me know.

@Muzz: Could you maybe try using the command /kill @e[type=skeleton] when you are in my lower basement? I read that it should kill all the skeletons. I'd appreciate it. How come I haven't seen you in the game, by the way? :)

I went into your base but i didn't find any skeletons, they've probably despawned on their own.

I have no clue what is causing that, I'd say the powered spawner might have something to do with it. Keep it offline to see if those skellingtons still show up.

I'm currently playing on a vanilla server. I'll pop in at some point though. :)

Thanks for taking a look, Solo. I think I'll get rid of my Powered Spawners and use Mob Duplicators instead to avoid this happening in the future. They're better anyway since they're much easier to manifacture.

Started playing a little bit yesterday, did a lot of exploration of the world (for the map). I took the liberty of visiting your homes, bases and you guys sure have talent for building stuff, I was impressed.

Started some very minor digging stuff, I claimed some territory to the east of potatis_invalid's home (near the snowy "mountain").

Since I'm a newbie with all this modded stuff, can anyone guide me for building an item production facility?

I wouldn't mind helping you out next time we're on the server

I am experiencing lag spikes when playing on the server every other second or so no matter where in the world I go (including the Nether). I have cut the power to my machinery and farms to rule them out, and it may or may not have improved things (I'm keeping it off for now), but I'm still experiencing lag spikes. I remember getting some before, but things seem to have gotten worse lately.

Maybe the server needs to self restart at some time where nobody plays.
Posted 5 years ago2019-03-08 16:12:47 UTC Post #342188
Restarted it. Server already has a schedule where it restarts every 48 hours. Server has 6 gb's of memory.

Did you increase the memory limit to >6GB?
Posted 5 years ago2019-03-13 06:44:21 UTC Post #342248
Like potatis said, you need to increase the "Xmx" parameter which is the maximum heap memory allocation on the Java Virtual Machine (JVM) to at least 6 Gb. Google has plenty of tutorial about that.

I just found out about a mod called LittleTiles. Holy balls, this is insane. In my eyes, this is a Chisel & Bits killer, although it is said that both mods can live next to each other.
