I was serious :| people asking questions that could be solved in a second if they used some initiative are irritating. Maybe I'm bein' facist :)

This is something all people who are new to forums or mapping should read.
It often happens that questions are asked in a very confusing way and without the information it'd require to answer in a quick and precise way.
It'd be helpfull though, if someone would reduce this 'how to ask a question'-manual to the most important parts so it can be put it into the forums as a sticky thread.

We don't have a sticky function :

I agree that an abridged version would be better. I'll get on it tommorow.

Hm, what about a fake sticky function? A moderator periodically posts bump-replies for the thread. That'd become the longest thread ever. :D
Seriously, would it be possible to add an extra link above the the boards, or next to the forums button in the sidebar, so as the helplink?

Ok, posting that up would be a waste of time, because no one is going to read through that whole thing! I was hoping it was a joke until I looked at it.

I said: I plan to condense it.

 wha'?

Andy? Any opinions on the idea of a highly-condensed less-agressive version to be placed somewhere for the advice of people posting, with HL-specific stuff?

Maybe if it appears near the post reply/post new topic or every page...

Seventh.. I don't have access to the links page, What about taking what you like from this and formatting it for a tutorial?
I can then keep a constant LINK in the News, so it is on the front page always.

Sticky's have been discussed, I used to be able to fix the date time function and keep the post in the future, but that died with the Forum shutdown... In a way I am happy to have the new ones instead ;)

So Get writing, consult the senior members for their thoughts and I will see what we can do to make it permanent.
