This should be interesting, lets start a competition to see who can recreate the best map for a different mod (example, a tfc map for cs). No ripping maps, no decompiling, do it all by yourself.

eh, i think that's not a good idea : too easy to copy things from original maps, or even use the original and modify it so it looks like being "recreated". Next Competition should be more creative i think... like making a map of real places, like Barcelona Stadion, or inside of Big Ben

I don't like the copying idea either. It's boring and doesn't really require any creativity or skill.
I hope I will win the next compo, so I can choose the next topic. This would be something special.

No, I mean like recreating ni a different way. make the map the same layout but with new texutig, new environments, and maybe a few axtra areas. Can't blame me for suggesting it though.

If someone can create a realistic nuclear explosion with HL's engine he'll be rated by me 'The Best sprite setup-er'. It's not as easy as it sounds, cause you have to include fades, sounds, some trains maybe (for the nuke falling or a B2 bomber maybe...) and probably more than a single user-made sprite. Go ahead and try it.

I have an idea for a competition. Map the most interesting set of scripted sequences you can and have the player watch through a trigger camera.
Eg you could have Gman come in and kill scis, or grunts invading blasting computers to bits whatever you like. But it has to be at least 1 minute of script time.

i think maybe it should be a make-a-house- compo with custom furniture
made from prefabs. make a house and put your own prefabs inside
