Well theres lots of free and expensive webhosting offers out there and i was wondering what everyone uses and think is best?

I use www.tripod.co.uk because it has all the things i need. 50MB space, frontpage extensions allthough i dont use them anymore and PHP and one mysql database.

Tripod sux! All hail WebHostFreaks! You pay like from $5 to $50 depending which package you want. Their basic one includes 2 MySQL databases. You can also have access to .htaccess files, php.ini files, they have several php and apache modules/plugins. You can use CPanel as well. The only downside is thaht they don't like pornography, or warez or mp3's and also, they don't let you have a shell account or Telnet, for security reasons. All together a good host! They own PHPFreaks, ApacheFreaks, MySQLFreaks and LinuxFreaks (might be linuxforums, cant remember).

I used to like www.web1000.com, but I'm not sure they're still going.

I use www.websamba.com, 30 MB free, allows hotlinking and is quite stable.

Baah. Free PHP hosts all have ads. Same with most HTML hosts.

is there a free webhosting sevus that allows you to have your own url directory like www.yoursite.com instead of www.something.yoursite.com?

www.dhost.info - only one popup per hour. It's the one I use, and the one RabidMonkey777 uses. :D
