sorry if someone else has already posted a topic on this but i am making a daft little map for cs and i want to make the roof glass so you can go up a ladder and sniper down onto the people runing about like headles chickens :D so how do i make see thorugh glass?

to make something glass, make it a func_breakable. In it's properties set its render mode to texture and its fx_ amount to whatever you want 0=completely clear and 255= completely solid so something like 150 is fine. Also set it's material type to glass.

And before asking in the forums, view the tutorials, they have all this in them and explain mutch better!..

For CS, no-one's entirely sure. You'll have to experiment; apparently texturing makes a difference too.

Well, you might need to make the glass less thick, if you make it real skinny you can shoot through it. BTW if you don't want it to break just use a func_wall fx_ ammount 100 and reder mode texture.

right i used the unbreakable glass material and both the walls are 2 thin so it the minumum amount a wall could be

off topic qusetion but why didn't valve include a light prefab coz its the most common thing to use in a room so if anyone knows where to get one would they plz tell me. thnx alot

or just MAKE a light yourself! A light is a primitive so wouldnt necessitate a prefab since its already THERE.

wha?? not the entity, an actual light on the roof like when u walk into ur house and turn on a light there is a bulb and a shade on the roof (usually) :P

oh right (and of course primitive was also the wrong word). You probably COULD find someone elses prefabs and use them, but all your learning is how to cut and paste.

i don't understand. i have tried to go on a website to download prefabs but that didn't help

Right, off-topic, so the thread can stop now :P
