Ok, I need an answer fast. How do you create a bunch of security cameras that you can cycle through when looking into a screen??

You could use a multimanager to trigger the various cameras with delays.

If you just mean "how do I do a camera", look at the newest tutorial!

No,no, I was trying to make a different kind of camera...O well, I guess I'll just play around with the options and then try making a group of security cameras that you can switch through...Who knows, I might even be able to write a tutorial on it...

um, are you meaning that you want cameras that you can trigger with a consol or something, and it gives you a view of something in the level???

You can't physically 'switch' through different cameras in the same screen in halflife, you can only have different cameras cycle after time delays. Unless you want to use buttons to select which cam, but I tried it and its messy. Try having several different 'screens' in the same area. But switching through, nope.

You could probably do it with a *_changetarget, as you can still use buttons in front of you when you're looking through a camera.

yes grim, I mean cameras triggered by a console...

As seventh just wrote, use a func_button and trigger_changetargets.

You could set up a console with Up and Down buttons which would give you, say, a 3 second view from a particular camera. Press Up to go to the next camera; press Back to go to the previous camera.

It wouldn't be like looking at a console; it would be a fullscreen camera view. There would be a fixed time delay associated with each camera view.

It's an event sequencer made of func_buttons, env_globals, multi-managers and trigger_cameras.

Here is an interesting idea that I may be 100% wrong with. Look in the example map's for the hacking of the computer or whatever it was, and maybe you can trigger things using that technique (I dont know how that whole thing works though I never tried it)

Take a look at the 'Security Camera' map in the 'Unfinished Stuff' map vault. See if there's something you can use.

I'll also upload a more extensive map to 'Unfinished Stuff' with forward, back, repeat modes and an individual camera select.

I just uploaded 'Security Camera II' to the 'Unfinished Stuff' map vault.

It has next, previous and repeat camera buttons as well as individual camera select buttons.
