Does steam Half Life support snow?

In, normal HL (no spirit) you could do the rain process, with a different sprite.
With spirit, theres an option in the func_rain entity.

other mods do though, i guess if you're mapping a new mod then spirit is your friend. if you just wanna make a hldm map then you're screwed =P

Counter-Strike 1.6 supports an env_rain entity, with a bit of fiddling with it you could make it snow.

simple. (how many of my sentences start with that?) just make your env_rain, make the colour white and set it to fall a bit... slower...

I know that spirit supports env_rain and that cs supports env_snow and env_rain, but I was asking is Steam Half Life supports snow. If not, just say so, please don't get this thread waaaaaaay off topic to the point of 60 posts about George Bush.

coolfat, why not just use the func_conveyer way? It may ruin r_speeds, but its an effective way to do it with the origional HL. I believe there is an advanced tutorial on it here.

because it ruins r_speeds. hy use it, nobody's computer can handle something like that! If i'm desperate to add snow I'll just use Counter Strike's de_survivor snow sprite....... shiver me timbers.....

It doesn't 'ruin' them.

My computer practically crashed when I ran the rain example map.

Worldcraft dude: Buy a new computer! They aren't that expensive!
A decent one is about as cheap as Dubya (58)

didn't you make an example map with snow falling?

and coolfat, i do remember having a loo0O0ng "debate" about whether r_speeds are important, you were defending the 4000 w_poly of one of your city maps, saying that only noobs cared about r_speeds.
and low and behold, now you care.

I never made a snow falling example. It was an example of how to make newly sticking snow on the ground. 7th renamed it.
