let me get this straight. This is what i make out from the tutorials and answers in the site. Max patches if u use scale 1 there are twice as many patches as if u use scale 2??
u see my map is like close to 10000 patches and now it crashes. Whats the dilio and hopefully it will get better when i compile with vis(have not done that )

and no im not using a damn sky box!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! did i mention this is officially the first level ive made with intentions to release to play on . And i have put an extreme amount of work into making some of textures and level there is lots of detail and is a beautiful machine in other words DO NOT want to scrap this hopefully i can rescale the cliffs to close this number off?there are alot of cliffs in my gorge hopefuly that will lower it enough. Do hint brushes help patches as it does not treally say in the tutorials thanx again u kick ass wise mappers from the heavens above. I only push to excel to suceed, in hope of raising amongst the heavens with u as a n expert mapper!!!! now wise ones please converse amongst yourselves and condemn me with an answer
with each question answered i become stronger thanx copperito :P

Err.

Your map has only 10000 patches and crashes? Then it doesn't have to do with max patches.

You can have more than 65536 patches, when you use the -sparse algorithm for hlrad.

HINT brushes will also not reduce your amount of patches.
