Hey all!

It's been a long time since I've created my own maps (back then, Hammer was still called WorldCraft). Now I decided to start over and create an own new map.
All good that far. Until I tried to apply a texture to a brush ... I choose a texture and everything, create a block with it, click Apply a hundred times, but in the camera view, it just won't show as being textures, all I see is the 3D grid version!
Did I miss something? What can I do?

Please help!
Thanks ;) cya

This is most likely being caused by the view being set to 3d Wireframe and not 3d Textured. You can toggle between them by clicking the 'Camera' text and clicking 3d Textured from the drop down box that appears.

maybe click on "camera" in the top left corner of the view box thingy, then go to 3D textured. Sounds like your on wireframe atm.

I would like to say I am very happy for you starting over, it gives people who are modding some help and if someone is bored they will have some maps :) I am also glad that no one yelled at your question ;) cause some idiots yell at noob questions, and well i usually try to stick up for them, but it dont always work! so ty for being nice and for starting over :) im a noob too, i'm still figguring out how to set up hammer with Steam :D

Strike Da Mic: With texturing, I suggest changing the mode to 'Lift And Select'. This allows you to simply 'right-click' the texture onto a brush. Left click will 'select' a texture from a brush, and use it's current properties. Very useful.

Lift and Select is also the default, I suggest leaving it on that.

Align to View is the only other horribly useful one, IMO. And you can really muck things up with that if you don't know what you're doing.
