just got 4 cds reformated my comp dono how to get it working trying steam and evrything now its not installed and need to run it hl dont work anymore can i get help

It's hard to diagnose your problem with such little information. You need to to tell us EXACTLY what's happening, not just a few vague details.

Wow, that's the least useful post I've ever seen. Why'n'cha actually describe what the hell you're doing and maybe somebody might come up with some suggestions. Saying "hl dont work anymore" is a completely worthless comment.

You want us to make the effort to help, make the effort when asking us.

ok well i think i understand your problem

1. Get Steam
2. Install Half-Life, CS etc if you have them
3.Go on steam and get a account by clicking new member
4.Follow the steps and type in pin code at the back of computer
5. It should then look for your games and install them all onto your steam account!

That should do it but if you already did this and your saying that it used to work but it stopped working so you reformatted the comp etc then well thats a problem that Steam can solve!

Well type your CD keys in, if you're capable of typing in such long strings of characters.

If not, sell your computer. If nobody wants it, give it away.

Install games from the CDs.
Install Steam.
Create a Steam account.
Steam auto-detects installs and uses that content as a start.
Steam will update the games to the current version.

Simple as.
If you're prompted for CD Keys enter them.

if your using your friends game, it wont work, as he will already have registered it in his name.

Half-Life does work in Steam, as much as you want to believe otherwise. If it's yelling at you about CD keys being invalid, (One of the downsides to Steam) then contact VALVe for instructions on activating HL for Steam.
