I keep getting this thing on my desktop called "Data Execution Protection" and its to do with WINDOWS EXPLORER(how u get around the desktop and click things, etc) i click CLOSE MESSAGE, then one of report things come up saying Send or Dont send. After that my comp goes blank and all u can see is the desktop background. Then about 3 secs later all the icons and start menu, etc pop back up. Why is this happening ? Or how do i shut it off ?

Teh wonders of SP2....

I don't know if you CAN shut it off. Getting rid of SP2 seems like the best option :P

oh and davideo59 i got ur e mail, and its called broadcast-depth because in the matrix "broadcast-depth" is the level of the real world where u can tranmit and recieve messages. basiclaly a place where information is sent and passed. I tried sending this back to you via Outloo but kept getting errors about ur aol not accepting incoming messages or something.

but SP2 makes this game i got work, and i cant tell u about it cause it breaks the NDA

No, there's a registry hack to entirely disable it. Google for it and look at this.

Also, disable the stupid Microsoft report thing by hitting WINKEY+Break, then Advanced -> Error Reporting (bottom-left) -> Disable Error Reporting.

so is DEP important? if i disable it will it be a big deal? Or will it lead many millions of codes to screw up and blow up my computer?

It's stupid and irritating and pointless as far as I can see. Maybe hardware DEP's handeh, but software just seems to bloody kill itself the whole time. I've turned it off.
