You could do it with some clever tracktrain work, methinks.

Have you tried just having the fan move independantly, and making the belt a conveyor? just like a bunch of different brushes in the shape..

1.How do I do what Fox said?
2.Experts may be able to do it but my object makeing skills and tracktrain skills are not able to make it look good as it is a tight corner that isn`t many units in radious.May work in large places that you can not get near too.
3.The fan is independent. A conveyer can`t have coners like mine.If any one has spirit(It`s a spirit map) and would like to see where the belt and fan are and the angle and stuff say so and I will put it in the vault. :)

use block tool and make a cylinder. use hollow tool on the cylinder. ungroup and get rid of the two unwanted peices. Than select all and tie to entity func_conveyor.
if your face features look crappy. click the face properties tool. click treat as one ,check face, than check world. and should look good.

Read the forum help
And while you're at it, read Forum posting too, you need it.

I would link to masterofpuppets "How to not be a complete n00b" guide, but I can't seem to find it.. deleted?

that don`t help me make the belt driven fan does it

use block tool and make a cylinder. use hollow tool on the cylinder. ungroup and get rid of the two unwanted peices.
The arch tool does a lot better job of this. For a cylinder set it to 360 degrees. But for what I think you're wanting killer, try making two 50 degree arches then rotate them into the correct position. You can always vertex manipulate the arches to get the "exact shape you want.

one prb with that.If it is spining it will rotate around a point (origin brush). How to I make it go between the axel for the fan and the other one when the belt can not be a circle?(wrong shape)I will put the map in the vault as map1.As I am building some new rooms in some places i have put things in just to stop leaks and save u time. There is only one fan in the map so I shouldn`t be hard to find. The belt brushs r already there. :)

it wont help you get your fan working, but it will help people understand you and not regard you as a complete noobwank.

How many times has it got to be said--- USE A SCROLLTEXTURE and tie it to a func_conveyer, and set the angles correctly OK ;)
