Thats awsome, they make tons of building pre-fabs??? But wow, it is going to be kinda lame considering every single map will have thousands of buildings in it. I can see exactly what noob maps are going to look like already. And I still fully agree that are mod is going to be good. I might even attempt at modeling in hl2 considering the SDK comes with a free modeling program :D --- but of course, we need to make it a kinda destroyed city and I don't know if they have alot of that type stuff even though they are going for the same type thing.

Just by reading your map discription. Im freaked out. How do you find sprites in your HL folder? Cant seem to find it.. :confused:

Prefabs are the lego of mapping! Also hl2 maps'll be larger etc and cluttered with unnecessary tat. If I get HL2 in the near future (god willing, a new puter ASAP) I'll STILL make tiny claustrophobic maps.

Obviously it aint gonna look like a whole load of old crap! All mapping will be made especially by us, no prefabs made by other people from different sites m'affraid.

So, to put it short, HL will come with loads of building 'fabs, though they won't be used in this modification.

Y'know, from a look at the CS: Source beta, and the associated files, what I've seen of Dust in terms of elements of architecture, there are things like fences, windows, and other certain special high-poly elements that are in model form for easier implementation by the mapper.

...yep. I do kinda think prefabs are a bad idea, if we use them, they have to be made by US and US only. (And no, I dont mean the United States)

Funny thing...I was just reading this thread this morning.

Whatever that's made so far should definitely be ported to HL2 Source. This high quality work should not be wasted. I was so impressed by the screenshots, and I am sure that they'll look even better in Source.

Jahzel has so much talent that I was unaware of before.

Definately will try to port the original work to source. Good thing about this mod in HL2 is the fact that HL2 is so equipt for making cities. Think about it, we could have ruined skyscrapers in the 3d skybox, big buildings, etc etc. Yep, cant wait to make this mod a reality!

Better physics! Zombies could wallow around like lunatics falling over and stuff -- we could even have various abandonned civilian cars you could drive, and plough into a horde of zombies!

This idea must be revamped immediately.

What about slamming the vehicle into a column and watch part of the building collapse onto a crowd of zombies? But of course, the player must get out of the car before the building collapses, or he/she will join the zombies to be buried alive (or perhaps become a zombie too).

Hmm, and how about driving the car out of a elevated parking garage and break through the railing and land on the roof of an adjacent building? That would be cool.

...and then, of course, the vehicle would be surrounded by more zombies!

Yeah! The funny thing is, all this is possible!

Watch Escape From New York and The Running Man to find out what exactly Fallen Wing city will look like. Oh and ofcourse all the classic zombie flicks.

The scariest part will be the subterranean areas you discover when you try to escape the boundaries. You encounter the Upper Hand (later on in the game).

Wow, sounds very impressive. The thematics and ambience are already well established. Even the grand finale!

I can't wait. Just don't make it too good so the people at Valve won't become jealous of your mod. ;)

Excellent, of course you can join if you think you can offer what is required in order for us to make this mod...

This mod would need alot of high quality work, so we need to recruit many people. Perhaps we need to set up a website first, and post all the garb we already accomplished....

We are lucky that hl2 is for the most part set in a city, we are 60% complete already! (well not really, but y'know what I mean)
