Whats the path for hlvis.exe? its in that directory. Look at your hammer setup. If you can't even look for the file, there's no hope.

is it |, l or I in the beginning of your map-name... I got hit in the eye 5 sec ago :/ (Damn snoballs)! the | is a nasty letter that likes to confuse the compiler... try finding the texture !WATERBLUE in your map and delete it

hlcsg: Error: Entity 0, Brush 622: mixed face contents
Texture !WATERBLUE and !WATERBLUE
The ZHLTProblems.html has been removed from the latest builds. I don't know why.

Fortunately this problem isn't too tricky to solve on your own. Mixed face contents... in other words, mixed textures. In this case mixed materials. All textures are of a certain type. Example, solid, water, sky, slime, origin, clip.
You can't mix types. Mixing them provides this error. So find your water and make sure all sides are painted the same texture.
Posted 19 years ago2004-12-07 12:39:58 UTC Post #76783
it is an "L"(lower case)
all sides are "!WATERBLUE" which is why i do not understand why there is an error.
Posted 19 years ago2004-12-07 16:50:28 UTC Post #76832
Very odd. Perhaps there're two textures with the same name, and that's confusing the compile tools?

Or perhaps a custom materials.txt? :

I've seen this before. Here's what to:

1. Format and re-partition you're hd.
2. reinstall os.
3. reisnstal VHE.

It's the only way.

or...sorry, i've been consuming too much Red Bull. How 'bout just deleting that entity.
Posted 19 years ago2004-12-08 13:07:08 UTC Post #77011
because removeing that water makes the rest of the water/water falls/damm pointless.
also what is HD,
what is OS and
what is VHE? :(

also the only custom files that hammer, half life , spirit uses are HalflifeB.wad and trains.wad.
Posted 19 years ago2004-12-08 16:07:33 UTC Post #77047
I read the fucking in the beginning, func train, doors with glass, water, doors, and so on. None of them say why I get that error so shut the fuck up or tell me something that helps!
Posted 19 years ago2004-12-08 16:17:09 UTC Post #77050
Everyone here should just cool off now. Seriously...
Killer, try adding zhlt.wad to your textures. It contains the texture null. Only paint the top face of the entity brush with water and all other sides with null and see if that helps.

It is true that experimentation is in order. But according to his descriptions and the actual problem he gets, there shouldn't be an error at all. Therefor I'm interested in finding a solution to extend my problem-solving knowlegde of hammer. You could say it's for personal gain. :)

I attemped to create some func_water in HL1 without Spirit. Using texture !WATERBLUE, it worked out just as it should do.

From that I could speculate the following reasons:

1. It's something in Spirit (which I don't have any experience in)
2. It's because of the brushwork. 14+ brushes into one entity.

Experiment with those.

I might as well say that Spirit is not recommended for new mappers. Period. To use Spirit, a mapper should have a very good grasp of the basics, experimentation experience and know how to find proper info.

Finally if nothing else works... Upload the map to the problem map vault and provide lots of information about the textures, brushwork, entity setup and purpose of the map. I'm sure someone will check it out and attempt to fix it.

Excuse my funky language. I'm in training for my next articulation exam. :)

its a bit obvious, and youve probably tried it already or been told to, but you should just get one !WATERBLUE texture selected, click your brush and hit the button that applies textures (texture application?)

could you possibly try to think outside the box of "everything is in a tutorial"?

that don`t tell me whats wrong also the check for problems thing said no errors found.I know I have a leak somewhere but without being able torun the map I can`t find it.
Posted 19 years ago2004-12-09 19:15:31 UTC Post #77299
find leaks without it. just load the pointfile into the editor. as long as you have 3.5, you can see the lines in the 3d view.
