Then adding a door prop. I found this to be a bit time consuming. I was wondering if there was a quicker way to just insert a door to a wall.

I'd suggest not carving.

Just make each individual brush, add a frame if desired and a prop_door_rotating and you're set. It's not really that time-consuming, imo.

Carving is the devil. Use to do it back when I made tfc maps during the Golden Age aka WON. With carving you can't resize without leaks and and carving just comes with weird errors. Stay away from it, take the time to do it right, and make it look good.

Don't let me get started on carving, I could go forever.

I'll just keep it to this:

Do not use the carve tool, it is useless, you can do anything with Vertex Manipulation.

mmmmm, vertex manipulation...

Clipping can be very helpful as well. In fact, there are some things that cannot be done with vertex manipulation, and can be done using the clip tool. Carving is one of those things you forget exists as you map more.

Clipping and VM - Great tools.

I never need, or use, carving or hollowing.
