when I place any kind of model or prop in the map it appears black/dark. How do I fix this?

put lighting in, env_cubemap and compile

The models look fine when I play, but in the editor they are black.

that's just one of the hammer glitches, hl2 hammer is still in progress.

When ever I start half-life2 it says your drivers are out of date and need to be updated. I click on the link but it dosnt have my video card type. Where can I download the update? It says I have a nvidia geforce4 mx 440.

There is no solution to this. I've got the exact same problem. It's our GFX card.

Try the drivers mentioned as they are the latest nVidia GeForce ones in general. If they don't work they're still good to have.

Well, new drivers is probably the first and last step D:

440's seem like normal enough cards so I don't know why it would be with this particular model?

Too old? A strange bug? Perhaps VAVLe will release a nice patch for it.
