Hey every one i just wanted to say this site has been a major help as ive been working on my first map with the Hammer.

So to the problem, after building and texturing my map i just wanted to compile it, so it was full bright and i could go through it and check everything out but it gave me a bunch of random crap that i can make no sense of like WARNING: Node with unbound volume? any clues? heres the enitre list of problems, i see that there are cords to where teh probs are but im clueless to why it would have a problem with my brushes unless the carve tool tends to be buggy?

WARNING: node with unbounded volume
jesus christ. 2 posts :o i think the above is your problem check the above on tommy 14's error page i think its in the "how to get your q answered on forums" tutorial
Posted 19 years ago2005-01-05 23:01:15 UTC Post #81956
Many games seems to suffer from this error. The problem is usually caused by an infinite brush that has resulted from bad use of brush manipulation tools.
Track down any brush oddities in your map and chances are your problems will go away.

so things like the carve tool and using the vertex editor may have caused my problem?
Posted 19 years ago2005-01-05 23:41:38 UTC Post #81965
First step is to press Alt+p in hammer.
Also, as a rule, don't use carving.
Posted 19 years ago2005-01-06 01:12:01 UTC Post #81973
i did alt+p says i have no porblems i also just rebuilt my whole lvl without the use of carve and there are no problems but the node one i didnt really even use the vertex tool wtf!? keeps saying node with unbound volume wtf does that mean?

I'd definitely be inclined to a massively-destroyed brush too. Anything gargantuan in proportions?

Possible.

No no no!

contents_solid = leak.

I assume when it's leaking a certain way your nodes' volume can't be calculated so it confuses it and gives that error?

Use the pointfile in hammer and find your leak(s), fix them (it) and try again.
