i have 2 rooms and a door between them,
i have one ligth entity in the first room and total darknes in the other room , but the light goes through my door, so my question is, how do i fix that?
i couldnt fint any help in the Tutorials
the door works as it should the only problem is the ligt

If the door isn't an entity already, make it one. Then, go to the Properties:

ZHLT Lightflags: Opaque (blocks light)

If you don't have this option, then you probably need ZHLT. Check our Links page for them.

Ant, if it weren't an entity already then the light wouldn't be goin' through it, would it now? :)

You might need to update your FGD if that field doesn't appear in it, smash (see the VERC).

I did'nt have ZHLT, but i do now!

WOHOO Problem solved :D

Btw, the field did'nt appear so i added another FGD and voila it works :)

i know what the opaque option does but i never figured out what the "embeded fix" option does

The door didn't have to be an entity to let light through.. all it needed was a one unit gap somewhere.

The Light tutorial was going to cover all the options, but I think we ran out of time.
For more info on embedded, pop over to Snarkpit.. they have a tutorial explaining it.
