Ok, i'm making a map, you are in a big lab ful with lazy scientists.
But I want a shooting range.
And I also want some Barneys to shoot at a target.

Now, how do I make them shoot at a target?

Using a scripted sequence wiht a firing animation aiming at the target.

Are you sure you triggered it right? Try comparing your entinity set-up wiht the example map's one. It might give you a solution to your problem.

You should set it up as the idle animation as well if im right ore let it loop wiht a multimanager.

You can actually set some monsters' targets to <target entity's name> and that'll work.

Seventh: Do you mean like, if I make an Info_target, and set the value at Barney/target as the name of the info_target?

This is confusing.

lol!
I used the animation: reload
made barneys target, the scripted_sequence
and he just stood there and aimed.
In HL workshop, they say that he is first going to reload, then, he will shoot.
But I'll just change it to shootgun, or whatever the name is.

Omg,, this can't be happening..
I heard to shots.. Yes I know,, I didn't repeat the sequence.
But.. He wasn't even holding a gun!
He just stood there and wipped with his hands in the air!
What do I do now? :(

there is an easier way but not very right ... :lol:

Make a little room at the back of the target and put there
monster_bloater...
And make the target func_door and tick the passable flag.

Barney will shoot like 5 sec to the target.
But that wont do any decals at the target... :|
He will shoot at it anyway...
oh wait... make monstermaker for monster_bloater set it to -1 then barney will always shoot at the target,
but it wont make any decals at the target again :|

Are you using a monster_generic? I remember reading that gun models won't show up on those.

what wad file is it.. as far as i know, I used the hl.wad, and zhlt.wad

must be they should be shooting straight ahead.. they do when I load it.
