Is this config right for compiling opposing forces maps?
(im using hammer)

i get a problem when i try to compile a basic room and player start entity which says, 'could not find filesystemdll to load'

make sure the compile tools copy the map to /gearbox/maps not valve/maps

ok.. get some new compile tools first though - i can See old q tools!

Ok ive applyed the new compile tools but receive the exact same error, cant help thinking its the games system files allocation in the hammer options are they ok? ^, error is still 'could not find filesystemdll to load'

Any ideas

It's probably because it's running the game post-compile? That sometimes causes this error. Run your map manually.

Ok now its getting worse :

ive fiddled with a few things and i get this error now after i compile :

map change failed 'map' not found on server (i know this means the bsp has not been created) but whyyy!! :nuts:

heres my configuration now:

build programs = http://www.danhall.co.uk/build_prog.jpg

Run Map = http://www.danhall.co.uk/run_map.jpg

First off as the others above said, open the map manually, so get rid of game executable!

Windows gave the error message:
"Access is denied."

This seems odd but, does it exist? or is something blocking it?

Oh and have you tried compiling in normal mode? if that works then it is obviously the setup of the advanced area!

Yep ive tryed opening it manually but i does nothing.. a .bsp is never created.

Does anyone know what could cause the 'access denied error? looks like thats whats stopping the bsp being created.

Usually an invalid path being passed to Windows (possibly only on NTFS partitions). Spaces in the pathname: read the SUBST part of the Steam tutorial.
