I have some slime, and a grate over it.

I have used the slicing tool to make the func_water have a nice curve. Part of my curve isnt showing up. Its just not there.

Same with my func_wall. Its at an angle, and i used the slice tool to make look like it broke away. Part of that isnt showing up.

The parts that arent showing up are new solids but they are still part of the entitiy.

I have no compile errors and there are no map problems. What could be doing this to my little happy puddle of slime and my grate?

By slicing to you mean the carve tool?<shivers> If you did carve, start with a new brush and use VM. Also, make shure the slime is at least 1 unit away from the grate.

Make sure your vertexes and planes are in order - try not to have odd angles on those "slices"

Don't "slice" water, it can make some pretty bizzare things happen, just stick with nice, rectangular, bricks.

(mmm, Water Bricks, the water of the future.)

Vertices, kol.

chow: must you have it func_water? Maybe just use a ! texture?

I never thought of that, seventh. I think ill try it. Luckily the slime im using is a ! texture. Thatnks a lot, seventh.

and i didnt carve, i meant i used the clipping tool.

Now for the func_wall...

Sorry, I meant 'clipping.' Mother says clipping is bad.

Ah, I missed the clipping-on-the-wall bit. I'd say it was likely a dubious brush from the clippin' tool. VM them.

Clipping isnt bad. Its carving that is terrible.

Im going to try my clipping first. If the problem presist, i will use VM.

Clipping can, and usually does created 'sub-unit verticies' or vertices off the grid. So you can clip, but then make sure the verticies are all on the grid. If they're not, VM them, which is what you should have done in the first place.

VMing is faster and easier, just takes a little practice.

I know how to VM. ;)
