You can't - Just play it on an ambient_generic.

check out http://hl2world.com - they have a whole database of half life 2 tutorials, including yours, I think its under mp3

If they wan't to play a good map then they won't mind downloading it but i decided not to use custom sounds and instead made a building with 20 switches and each switch plays a song from hl2 and 1.
