i have some mdl files that i want as a bit in my map, its a snowman and some presents, i have seen these files in other maps, but i cant put them in my map as a prefab or anything, when i have downloaded other maps i have to put the mdl files that are in the maps in the models folder, how do i get them in my map?

i think you can put a monster_generic, and go to the properties and make the mdl file to what ever you want. :( tell me if this works :)

i know i cant include them in the .bsp. i want to have those models in my map like wen u play it, but still hav to give them with the download

He just means a field in the monster_generic or cycler's properties called "Model".

use a cycler thats the best to only show mdl's

well, monster generics are , they don't have white blood,
and if you put the x of the entity on the 'floor' , and check the non solid flag then they act like generic models

ok ok ok, plz explain to me i have no idea of how putting in models works... has ayone played de_xmasdust? i want to have models like the snowmen and pressies in that map that just sit there and look good, now, plz explain the steps to do that, it would make the TWHL tribute christmas map sooo much better...

oh well it is getting too late, i have reached my christmas deadline, i am posting the map.... ( i the mdls in as hosties)

Worked fine when I player it. I got a present to follow me to the rescue point, and then a snowman....
So what was the problem again?

i had to use a hostage_entity because i dont think there is any other model entities?

You can use cycler_sprite. You'll have to type models/modelname.mdl though.

How do you size them?

Properties of cycler_sprite

add size 0 0 0
