Posted 20 years ago2003-12-25 23:12:15 UTC Post #9350
Very easy! Go to ur desktop find the 'My Computer' icon, right click, go down to properties. And there it is! The window that pops up shows all sorts of crap :P

is 256 MB of RAM good?
Posted 20 years ago2003-12-25 23:19:03 UTC Post #9352
Yeah its ok it should run ur map though. I had 256 a few weeks ago and it ran fine. I think that some programs may be sucking the juice out of ur computer. What Operating system?

yup, 256 is good, so it shouldnt be your ram that is stuffing it up

as i said before

Description: The program failled to allocate a block of memory.
Howto Fix: Likely causes are (in order of likeliness) : the partition holding the swapfile is full; swapfile size is smaller than required; memory fragmentation; heap corruption

is my compiling error. could this be caused by my low amount of virtual memory? because i keep my computer on 24/7 .... i dont think this is a good idea =/
Posted 20 years ago2003-12-25 23:34:42 UTC Post #9357
No its not a good idea at all. Have you specified your own virtual memory? If so try changing it so windows does it. otherwise increase the swap file size to suit how much space is left on ur hard drive. If u put too much and theres no hard drive room left then there are problems

how do i specify my own virtual memory?
Posted 20 years ago2003-12-25 23:49:04 UTC Post #9359
hmmm let me try remember now
Ok do my first instructions again.
1. Go to the Advanced tab
2. Click the first button (Settings)
3. In the new window go to the Advanced tab
4. Press the "Change" button
5. The Virtual Memory window appears.
6. Now you must kno how big ur hard drive is and how much room is left. There should be a recomemdation at the bottom.
7. Click on the dot that says "Custom size"
8. Take that recomemdation and put it into the "Initial size" box
9. In the other box put the same thing.
10. Hit "set"
11. Hit OK.
12. Hit Apply then OK
13. Hit apply then ok
14. Restart your computer

And thats it! If any directions are confusing tell me :)

Batch Compiler is a Nem's Tools go to
http://countermap.counter-strike.net/Nemesis/index.php?p=1
And you find good Tutorials and Download for Batch Compiler

Batch compiling can sometimes reduce your compile times, by setting the tool priority to High, this give the tools more memory to work with, and get first priority on the CPU power ;)

Yep tru. But your map should run fine anyway. Perhaps its just too compilcated for the compile to handle.

Search the net for a program called "startup cop" or "startup control panel."

After u download it, run it, shut down EVERYTHING and reboot. Your system will restart what it needs to run and everything else won't. That will recover used RAM.

Well if u go to "run" and type in "msconfig" u can do it there too :P
