Has anyone else ever found this easter egg in Blue Shift?

To get it:

When you first get your pistol in the armory, go to the shooting range and collect all the clips of ammo. Then go back to where your armour was in your locker, and there is a small wooden box on the floor, shoot the box (NOTE: Every Single Bullet you have must hit the box in order to break it.).

I guess Ill be the retard to mention all the obvious ones.. Such as seeing Gordon on the train, as well as GMan. Seeing gordon on his way to the test chamber, and seeing Gina bringing the Specimen to the test chamber. I'm going to check that out when I get a chance.
*Side note* Certain angry bovines coughmadcowcough need to empty their PM boxes.

Yeah I think so, I only installed it in blue shift! Since we're talking on strange stuff in Hl1, did you notice that gordon in opfor has sunglasses... it was kinda wierd.

in HL, when you get off the tram at the start, go up to the security guard and listen to his speech about a bunch of messages for you that were lost with a system crash. after he's finished speaking press the button that turns on the alarm, now noclip back through the door to see the security guard who let you in in some 'amusing' danger

You can't noclip back, because that security guard was in the previous map, and a changelevel does not occur.

Whehe...

I remember another hidden area in Blue Shift. It was posts on TWHL ages ago. I don't know the exact location but later ingame, there is a Chumtoad Cave that you can visit. :)

bah, i'm installing blueshift again with steam (retail previously) so i can see these and its taking AGES to update. why cant it just install the latest version instead of installing old version, then updating. no sense.

I believe that cave is somewhere in the Xen area, deep down in a pool or such. I've never checked it out though... ;)

just completed blue shift again searching for easter-eggs. man that game is short.

anyways, the only one i found is
right after you get to the old lab, there are some broken vents after the elevator. anyway, there is a vent-grate that is not see-throughable. it takes a couple of crowbar hits, but you can break it. follow the vent and find a photo of gordon... edited..

Thats not gordon that a guy from valve it was discussed in an old fourm beace it has shown up many places,The one that was discussed before was the one behind the out of order toilet door at the start.

I don't think these are really easter eggs that I Have see on the hit fourms but still, While I was looking for a nice zombie MDL I stumples upon a SD BS zombie so I dled, and What I find Is some anims I havent seen in the game before. There was an animation where the zombie gets run over which I havent seen and a few others. And in HL (i might have seen it but I don't remeber) But there was an animation where the zombie hauls a sci and a barney. If some one could tell me where these happen it would be nice because I want to see them :D.

I have such a sequence in HL:UE. :) Play the original Uplink and you'll see. :)

Also it features in chapter 5 'Blast pit' in Half-Life. If you go through the door on the second level of the silo with the tentacle monster before you do the ground floor you can see the zombie dragging them on the level below you through the grate on the floor.

You don't play as barney calhoun in blue shift btw..
Type 'thirdperson' in the console and you can see that you are gordon, with a ponytail in his hair! :D

gordon always had a pony-tail in his hair. even the original beta gordon who looks like a dwarf had a pony-tail

That face is also in op4 when you use the displacer in xen to teleport you to the hazard course. you see him on the clip board.

by the way, raking through forums i have found the following snippets of info.. not really easter eggs but interesting to know.

The security office in 'we've got hostiles' is sector 7G (where Homer Simpson works)

The names on the lockers are the Valve staff.

The Egon is named after Egon Spengler from Ghostbusters and based on the proton gun thingy.

In one of the On a rail HL levels, one of the mappers has put his name one unit deep in a secret part under the floor. You find a grate under some stairs covered by boxes, break that crawl through some tunnels, kill some headcrabs and arrive in an undergound section with aliens and grunts fighting above you. Theres a dead grunt with some det packs and in one of the inlets is the mappers name.

in the pak 0 file for OP4 in misc there is a sound called "dsbossit.wav" that says in backwords "to win the game you must kill me Randy Pitchford" I notced that he was in the credits.. Randy Pitchford is the president of Gearbox Software.

if u noclip into 1 of the bathroom stalls in the beginning of the original half life u can find another pic of that guy with the egg eyes

And here is a really obvious one that i'm sure you all know - you can use the teleport gun to get to the old HL hazzard Course in op4. its filled with aliens, but it also has another picture of ping-pong-ball-eyes somewhere in it.

I found that reversed sound file by myself ages ago while I was screwing with the op4 sounds, it is pretty cool. I never knew about the mappers name and I know exactly where you are talking about.

where would media in general be without easter eggs? Probably in the same place, but they are really fun to find, especially in film, there's like a hundred easter eggs in LOST. Im pretty sure i read somewhere there is egg-eyes somewhere in HL.

What? I loaded of1a6, its the level where the Gman closes the large door on you and the osprey takes off without you. There are no teleporter or special vent covers in that map.

I think he means of3a1, walk in front of the big door where you see gordon jump into the teleporter, turn around and look up. There will be a big vent jutting out of the wall/roof bit, shoot it enough and a chumtoad will break down out of the roof.
