This is the time of mods. We all got that ;) .

Its time for TWHL to make a PRO mod. Take the best coders/mappers/modelers/skinners etc.... (from the forum)

We will work on it and make it big and goodlooking! Maybe even earn money to the forum!
But ofcourse if ths now is going to happen i can be a mapper :nuke: .

Greetings ZeG

It's been suggested, but everyone who would be suitable is working on other mods.

I'm not working on any projects ATM, though I might be helping a friend make an actual game from scratch soon. When I get my computer back online I would be up for it, so long as nothing drastic changes.

Well. Im going to look after more people.
But that would be great if you joined Tycell :cyclops: .

I think il make a form that i send people if they want to join. Then they can show what they are capable for. ;)

Isn't TWHLmix2 a TWHL community mod already? We really couldn't support two community mods at the same time. :)
Anyways - I'm really way too busy atm. HLHS, TWHLmix2, some MP maps I'm thinking of making are already in my to-do list.

Heh, I remember working on a mod where you traveled through the internet and you could actually walk around in the TWHL website.

I was to be the lead mapper but alas the mod fell to peices. Had some good ideas for it too, like traveling down a tunnel (like a network connection) with all these little side passages going off it with different websites displayed. Like "Politics Online" Which was going to be flaming and so on :)

Reminds me of Tron 2.0. Interesting game. :)

Yeah, it was pretty sweet. If we do make a TWHL mod I think it should be set inside a virtual reality. Like;

"OH NO! Viruses have attacked the TWHL server (xen), and look, Borton Anti Virus has deployed soldiers to 'clean up'. We have to save the site from being formatted (nuked)."

That would be pretty sweet, fighting your way through the inside of a computer. I once had a whole mod planned out which was all based inside a computer, but you didnt find that out until the very end. It was awesome. :) "The Last Mod" it was called I belive, Alas all the maps I made for it were lost when I formatted, and I couldnt re do them all.

Nice idea there, Tycell. :)
Why not save it untill the major mods here (HLHS, TWHLmix, etc.) are done? More mappers could help then.

It's not that I don't want to but I have this very tiresome Dedication project to finish and then I have plans to either make a Rats map or my school...Something I've always wanted to do.

Also you spelt 'hear' wrong...It's 'here'.

More mappers doesn't automatically make a mod better... think of 'team management'... ;)
Posted 18 years ago2006-04-19 12:11:01 UTC Post #175172
Also skills differ and thats what I find so "chilly-fying" about mods because it all starts to fall apart when some of the team lose interest and others are dedicated...Arguments start and it dies...

Honestly mods made by one person are better than a team sometimes...I normally ask a few people to help with textures and models but if they ever asked to join I'd decline.

Being able to work with a team is a skill in itself, yeah. And motivation is a key resource, too.

I think it's better to start a mod casual and slowly expand it rather than aiming too high (as most mods do these days - it's cool to start a mod after all, right?).
Oh well, not that I have too much experience with mod teams or such... :)

Make your own damn mod. That way you can get it exactly as you want it and there won't be any arguments. Unless you talk to yourself that is. Gets Worried

Heh, I was going to do one of those too. I made some custom textures and re-skinned some NPCs; that was about it.

I had an idea for a map where the player "logs" into a "virtual desktop" Net Force style and wanders around. It was going to be a test of my skills, to see if I could make something cool. I might still do it.
