While replaying HL, I got to We've Got Hostiles and I met a weird scientist in one of the warehouses... When I talked to him, he died immediately without saying a single word! A heart attack?
And when I talked to his corpse, it said: "I'm slowing you down, am I?" - of course you are! :) After that he was silent tho.
So I reloaded my game and ignored the scientist, going up a stairs instead. When I was on an upper level, he died suddenly for no reason... Maybe he was scared that I was leaving him alone and died of fear. :)

Odd, that exact same thing has happend to me before.

There are any number of unexplainable glitches in HL. I remember encountering one that completely halted the gameplay in one of my replays. I was going through the "Power Up" stage and that sliding chain link door that goes to the big power generator thingy just wouldn't open, no matter what I did. I ended up restarting the whole game for that. :zonked:

Sorry for the 2 week thread bump, but I had this happen to me in Blue Shift, and it wouldnt let me continue. period. In the very beginning, right after the tram sequence, I hop into the elevator with the 2 scientists, and they go "hey stop that, what are you doing 'araghhhh'" and drop dead. Every time this happened, it said "terminated due to hostile behavior" or something like that. I loaded a save from halfway through the tram-ride and it still borked. I ended up creating a new game, and it worked fine after that.

Dorian27 - I posted that glitch in the forums some time ago. That glitch in the elevator occurs just before a level change. My solution was to run in console mode and, before the point where the glitch occurs, run the next map.

Probably a sequencing bug. I bet his sequence is set to 'No Interruptions' and I bet he takes damage from a grunt somewhere. When you get close he must close the sequence and as a result dies. This is exactly like what happens when you murder a scientist playing an important scripted sequence and you can unload 10 clips into him and he will fall over dead when the sequence is complete.

yeah. an ascripted_sequence.
regular scripted_sequences can be interrupted.

When I have mine set on repeat.. it does'nt... so I always put Repeat X times.. to 99 or something.
Anyone have any idea why the repeat does'nt work?
