has anyone ever died by a barnecle? im not talking about, im gonna climb the rope and see how long it takes to die, but you were walking one way, looking another, and went up, and didnt pull out the crowbar fast enough in either the game or a mod?

well... got pulled twice, in HL2. I played the game twice, and got pulled up at the same place! in water, after Ravenholm I think.. I was swimming and then "hell, wtf is pushing me up, the water?" after a while I looked up and hell it was a barnacle. In the water I didn't see it, somehow

Heh, i got nabbed by one in HL2 near the end of the train segment, I was distracted by some combine, and I rushed in guns a-blazing and I thought I was stuck next to a ledge or something because I stopped moving, but alas, I started accelerating upward, and crunch loading...

In half-life1 when I was battling a bunch of human grunts, I ran into a barnacle.I was still shooting at the grunts... when the grunts died.I was too late to change it to my crowbar, "why not shoot at the barnacle too?" Waste of ammo? No

i just mess with them. i go all the way up, wack them with the crowbar, control my fall onto another barnacle tounge and repeat process. 
of course there ahs to be more than one of them..
neat trick with barnicles.... in blueshift. i forget which level but theres a broken bridge with some pipes under them, thers a barnicle on the other side of the bridge, if you let it suck you up and kill it, you fall onto the other bridge and there are 2 medkits there.
