That was the best Scrubs flavoured desktop background I could find, and I had to edit it a bit to get rid of some junk.

That Steam drive isn't a partition, its a subst drive. Handy for quick access to the game folders rather than going through the C:/ drive.

Stop linking to the damn php file, pepper! And, uh, clean up your quickstart bar.

Nice BG, razor.

Posted 17 years ago2006-05-19 09:00:04 UTC Post #180942
Pepper, just change the thumbnail so it links to the .jpg instead of the php...

its so easy.

Can't you handle simple bb-code rather than copy+pasting? And the startbar is 2 rows tall :( Horribly ugly.

One thumbnail leads to the nasty page infested with ads while the other links right to the image. Good luck finding out which one. Muahahahaha!

Dont look at the bottom of the screen. Thats cheating!

I have a good browser, not a status bar. I win.

Its infested with icons. :x

How the hell do you people work with so many icons everywhere? Use your quickstart bar, your start menu, anything!

Ouch.
I couldn't have a desktop with that many icons. At times I have had maybe 3 or so icons on the desktop, but often I just have the recycling bin.

I just copy files onto desktop when sending them on MSN...I even have a nice folder called the 'Sort Folder' which I simply copy files into and then I sort them out later.

It's Windowblinds, I think? It lets you change it like that. I've never used it, so I don't know much about it.

The background image is the only thing that has been changing in my desktop for the past 4 years.
The current one gets me in the mood for mapping :)

It's Windowblinds
K, I just checked into this prog and it does look like what's being used. Since there is NO WAY I'm spendin' 20 MoFoin' bucks on it, does anyone know how much u can do w/ the free version?

EDIT does anyone know about DesktopX? From what lil I just read on download.com, it seems like a completely free version of WindowBlinds, but more powerful. (I'd look into it myself, but it's after 1am here and I'm tired)

You can use Neowin's theme patcher too, it allows windows to use custom themes without un-necessary programs, search it up.

The theme is XPMC Induztry by b0se.

http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/20901820/

There's also a blue-hued tint but its too bright for my tastes (and eyes after 6 hours of mapping)

There's a Winamp skin too, here:

http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/21103245/

I dont even bother keeping it clean anymore Alex, it just gets messy again when I have to reorganize a BM directory or compile some models :[

The uxtheme.dll wins for theme switching. WindowBlinds just bugged the hell out of me. I don't like Stardock.

Nehway, minimalistic styles for the win.

Thanx guys, I'll have to check some of these out. One last question on the subject...I share this comp w/ 3 other ppl. If I use one of these to manipulate my desktop, will it effect the others as well or just me?

Depends on what "one of these" is, and whether you use seperate profiles.

One of the progs that allow u to manipulate the Windows Desktop (Neowin, DesktopX, WindowBlinds, etc...)
whether you use seperate profiles
Yes, each of us have our own account on the comp and we're using the NTFS file system (good thing too...that password really protects my more 'questionable' content ;) )

Just use the uxtheme.dll patcher; all that does is lets you run non-Microsoft (free) themes using the standard XP skinning engine.
