De_crookcounty. If you have never heard of it, then now is the time to see it. De_crookcounty is the absolute pinacle of.............. a city map But dear God, man. It literally spans the size of a whole city. And not just because of the skybox, no, the whole thing is playable. This is exactly the kind of map that I have been waiting to see ever since I started mapping. Its so beautiful wipes tears from eyes.

He also made a special version of this map, dotd_crookcounty, which in my opinion looks ten times better. It was made for a specific CSS mod, dawn of the dead, where you fight zombies co-op. Check this one out too, just because it has such an amazing atmosphere(not scary, just amazingly awesome. Looks a lot more city-ish).

82... MB's... Damn, this must be a big map, I can't wait to try it.

Edit: I checked it out, and I personally didn't think it was all that great. The lighting was rather plain, and the layout, as far as I could tell without noclipping, was just a box with redundant streets and buildings on it.

There was no outstanding architecture in any part of the map, and it had a very plain, un-atmospheric feeling to it, which was only covered up a little by the overuse of fog. The interior of the police station was equally boring, as there was a severe lack of detail.

By the way, I didn't try the DotD version, so that still has the possibility of being a lot better.

I personally don't see what the big deal about this map is. I didn't think it was extremely vast, and it just didn't do a very good job of convincing me I was in a city...

I could just have been expecting too much out of it, but I wasn't very impressed at all.

We were going to use that map for Gang-Life because he offered it but sadly we died didn't we...Brilliant map but I love his black and white map titled 'cs_noir'.

Alexroyce worked on BMS for a short time, and now he works for Infinity Ward ;P - He's pretty talented, and a nice guy.

infinity ward made the cod2 series, therefore respect++

You guys should check out his site for some of the best maps made for CS:S since it came out. He told me it was his latest map, CS_Cabaret that got him that job and when you see it, you'll know why.
