I have done many level changes i know that the LM has to be in the same spot and that you need two T_CHLEVEL, but when my i run my map and it go's to change level, I get placed in the map ok.... not stuck in any brush ........ however, I'am frozen in the air and i can see my whole map ok no..... chopppy black void. just cant move my player.
I made a completely enclosed boxs...... nothing elsa is in the map just a 6 sided brush box enclosing the Info_player_start to be placed in so i'am not outside in the (void) of the game .
I lost on that is going on with the map. :furious:

after a changelevel, the player does not start from an info_player start.

Also, post in the correct category. Nobody knows if this is for Source or HL now

Should I remove the info_player_start from the levels
I just need one at the start of the game?

I removed the Info_player start and I'am still stuck in the air?

Don't remove the player start. This way when you load the map(not reach it by playing) through console you'll start from the player start and not the map origin, which sometimes can be in the void.

Ok, what kind of level change are you trying to do? One-way should still have trigger_levelchange in both levels.

place a level change trigger at the beginning of the 2nd map... I dont have experience with then yet... but I know you need that one so that the map change trigger from map # 1 knows to put the player there in map # 2. Fidgit with the options untill you have it to your liking. Also put an info_player_start in so if you choose to load the map via console, you end up there.

Edit: lol, penguin, we posted at the same time :)

You MUST place the second map start in the exact location as the end of the first map or the player will be loaded in that spot evenif a map doesn't exist there.

The whole idea of this exact location of both landmarks thingy is that the area in the new level must be at list in the same size of the last area in the last level where the player was transported from. The landmark culculates the distence between it and the player then places the player in the same distence from the landmark in the other level, regardless if there is a brush in there.

So place the landmark at the same distence from the walls like the other.
Example: Landmark(level 1)- 8 units from the floor, 120 from the ceiling, 32 from the walls.
The other landmark mustn't be any closer to the brushes around it then the other is. The landmark's cordinates in hammer doesn't mean a thing.

Hope this explains the placement of landmarks a bit. :)

By the way: don't say you were stuck in the air, this way I thought you were just floating in the middle of your map. In the void/wall means you are outside your map.
